What is the best time to get a maternity photography done?
For those carrying multiple babies or on bed rest, it is advised to have your session a little earlier, around 6-7 months. Idea is to have your session when your tummy is visibly nice & round but before you are uncomfortable to stand for long period of time.
Do you provide clothing for maternity shoots?
Yes, we do. Our wardrobe includes maternity dresses and gowns, handpicked from across the world which are provided during our maternity shoots as part of the package.
Can I bring along a couple of my favorite clothes to wear during the shoot?
You are most welcome to bring along your favorites! It is important that you are comfortable during the photoshoot. However, it will be great if you can align us before the photo session, so that we are prepared for the same
Can I include my husband during my maternity shoot?
We encourage the husband to be part of our maternity photoshoot sessions.
How long do your maternity or family photoshoot sessions last?
Please know that there is no real timer to our session. For us, it is very important that you have fun and enjoy the experience. However, based on our vast & past experience, our basic maternity or family session lasts approximately 2 hours.
In between if you need rest, don’t hesitate to let us know. We will never rush you.
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when they are less than two weeks of age.
Is it safe to bring my newborn to your studio?
Being a mother myself, I ensure that safety & hygiene is paramount. We provide a temperature controlled environment, air-purifier & humidifier to keep you and your baby warm & cozy. Our studio is sanitized before & after every shoot. Our maternity apparels are professionally dry-cleaned after every shoot, while our baby apparels are hand-washed with baby-care range.
Do you have clothing or props for Newborn?
Yes, all our newborn apparel, newborn dresses and newborn props are organic & sanitized. They are also handpicked from the best of designers across the world.
How long do newborn/baby sessions last?
I am a ‘baby led’ photographer. They will dictate how long sessions take depending on if they are cluster feeding, settled, unsettled etc. Mostly sessions can take between 2-3 hours.
Do I need to bring anything for a newborn photoshoot?
My studio is a haven of newborn props. It is comfortable, warm, safe & hygienic. All you need to bring are a few essentials like nappies, milk, wipes and some change of clothes. If possible, do carry pacifier for babies, it helps.
Can I include any other family members in the shoot?
Yes you can. However, the same is chargeable. Request you to kindly refer to the “Pricing”* section on the website for further details.
Can I bring along my dog?
We would be more than happy to welcome your fur-baby, however the same is chargeable. Request you to kindly refer to the “Pricing”* section on the website for further details.
However, responsibility of ensuring the best behavior from the dog lies with the owner. In case of non-cooperation or aggression, we reserve the right to refuse keeping in mind safety of others.
How do I reserve a session?
Session date & time need to be booked by paying an advance of Rs 3,000/-.
Your booking will be considered confirmed only post receipt of the advance booking amount.
Can I book the session verbally?
No. Sessions shall be confirmed only post completion of advance payment of Rs 3000/-.
Each of our sessions are carefully curated and customized to suit our clients’ requirements. It is important that you allow us ample time to plan and take you through a pre-shoot consultation, our client guide to discuss different photography ideas, in order to ensure a seamless experience on the shoot day.
Hence we do not encourage last minute confirmations or rushed last minute bookings.
What if I am late for my shoot or need to cancel the shoot?
If you are more than 1 hour late, session will stand cancelled and advance booking fee will be forfeited.
Any session rescheduling needs to be notified to us at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the agreed shoot time.
In case of any medical emergency, we would be more than happy to oblige at a shorter notice provided you present the requisite medical documents.
What are the requirements to be ready for the shoot?
Do not worry, a separate client guide will be provided to you, post booking of session with advance payment. That should help answer all your questions. More than that, we will engage with you personally to take you through the process during our pre-shoot consultation.
Do you give Raw Images?
Are there any rules in your studio/during the photoshoot?
The basic rule is to entrust the photography with us. Hence, we do not allow any personal devices to be used for photography inside our studio.
Shoes are not allowed inside the studio (except for models, as per requirement during the shoot). Hence we recommend you carry your socks so that you are not bare-feet.
We also strongly believes that everybody’s time needs to be respected. You will never find us late for your shoot and we expect the same from your side.
I want more pictures than the package I opted for. How do I get it?
Each extra picture, edited or unedited, will be chargeable. Please check our Pricing* options for more details.
No raw images will be shared.
How long does it take to receive my final photos?
First batch of low-res pictures will be shared with you within 7 days of your session. All photos provided in this phase will have watermark across the photograph.
You are required to select and share back the final photographs for editing. Number of photographs that you will receive and select for editing will be basis the package selected by you.
Post receipt of final selection from your side, the final portfolio will be delivered to you in 14-21 days.
Please note that all our photos are shared only through a cloud storage system. We do not use any external storage devices to transfer photos, purely from a safety point of view.
Can I order more pictures later?
Sure, we retain all images from our sessions for a period of 60 days post the photoshoot. We would be more than happy to oblige is request is receive in this period.

Is hair/makeup included?
No, hair and makeup is not included as part of any of our packages. We recommend you come prepared for the session. To understand how to prepare, we will have a detailed pre-shoot consultation.
How do you deliver the final photographs?
Please note that all our photos are shared only through a cloud storage system. We do not use any external storage devices to transfer photos, purely from a safety point of view.
Do you offer discounts?
Our photography package prices cover the talent of the photographer, the quality of the images captured and time of all the stakeholders. Hence prices are non-negotiable.
We sincerely hope that you would understand and appreciate the value once you receive the final product and not attempt to bargain.
Do you shoot only at your studio or will you shoot at my place?
Home photoshoot is available for maternity, newborn and lifestyle shoots for an additional charge of INR 7,000. However, the setup will be restricted to limited props & dresses/wraps.
Are home-shoot packages the same as your studio packages?
No. Any home shoot charges are INR 7,000 more than the base package. However, availability of natural light, the surroundings, the set-up is something that we leave to your judgement.
I have pre-booked my newborn shoot with you. However, a baby can arrive earlier or later. What do I do?
A newborn baby is many times more important than a photoshoot. Hence, just call us and let us know. And let us take care of the re-scheduling.
Are you immunized?
Yes, I am up to date with all relevant immunizations that are required when handling a newborn.
What is your logo policy?
All photographs shared by us are copy righted to Rima Dasgupta Photography and hence all our final photographs mandatorily carry our logo.
We do not share any photograph with our client without the official logo of Rima Dasgupta Photography.
The position of the logo on the photograph will be a decision of Rima Dasgupta Photography basis the aesthetics of the frame. The positioning of the logo cannot be chosen by clients at any point in time.
Having said that, we always ensure that the Logo does not interfere with the beauty and aesthetics of the Photograph.
What is the full payment schedule?
Clients are required to complete the balance payment on the day of the shoot. Advance payment made will be adjusted against the package selected by you.
What is your logo policy? Can I get some photographs without your logo?
No, we do not share any photographs (low resolution or final edits) without the official logo of Rima Dasgupta Photography.
We expect our clients to understand and respect our copyright on the photographs, hence we request our clients to refrain from making any such requests.
What are your photography copyright laws?
We follow the law of the land. Indian and international laws assign the copyright of the photograph to the creators of a photograph. Hence all photographs are copyrighted to “Rima Dasgupta Photography” and “Rima Dasgupta”.
Just because you choose to get a shoot done with Rima Dasgupta Photography, does not mean you have purchased the copyright.
Under the Copyright Act, photographs are protected by copyright from the moment of creation.
Photographers have the exclusive right to reproduce their photographs.
Photographs of “Rima Dasgupta Photography” cannot be used by anybody without the logo. Clients may choose to use the logo watermarked picture for use on any social platforms online for personal use only.
Photographs of “Rima Dasgupta Photography” cannot be used by the client at any point in time for any commercial use/ use which leads to any financial gains for the client.
Copyright infringements, reproducing photos without permission, tampering with the image or the “Rima Dasgupta Photography” logo can result in legal conflict.
Where can I use the final photographs?
On any platform of your choice, but for non-commercial use only. For any commercial use, be it sale to stock image portals or for any other commercial purposes, you are required to take prior written consent from Rima Dasgupta Photography, authorizing use of the same.
